Spend your starting Karma to get your Close Combat as high as possible, because that's your primary accuracy stat. Everything else is going into the Strength tree, and since you're foregoing Throwing, it'll all be going into Strength and Close Combat. You'll want Body 5, Int 2, Biotech 2, Willpower 4 (extra Karma from an early skill check), Chi Casting 1, and Charisma 4 (Sec/Soc) to start. Let's start from my little chassis and work from there. For pure Close (pure Strength, really) there is only Troll. If you're going Close/Decker, Orc is nice. Dwarf is only better if you intend to go all of the way to 10 in chi techniques.

If you want to min/ max, I would take a troll or a human, since they effectively get the most karma.

Dwarves can get 10 WP for the best of the chi spells. The passive chi techniques are great if you're going to go heavy on the cyber. More is nice, but it will necessarily reduce the amount that you can invest in strength and body. The question for you is how much chi combat do you want to take? 4 points is a good minimum to get stride and the magic protection spell. Swords are better for pure melee due to the increased damage and AP damage. The only time I built out fist based combat was on my rigger/decker and it worked out very well.

I think that swords are better than fists in this game. Razors for the main campaign and the whip for playing Vox Populi, which is the remake of the original campaign from the first game.įor Dragonfall, it is certainly viable. Hand razors and the monofilament whip are both excellent. Since I'm restarting, although I didn't dislike my previous character build of a pistol wielding elf I think I want to try out a quite different build and go with a melee focus instead, especially since aside from glory, who is more of a weird jack of all trades melee/pistol/medic, there's no real melee character in the partyįor melee builds, what are the pros/cons between melee weapons vs unarmed weapons, and pros/cons for all viable melee races compared to eachother? So far I want to play a human or orc with a sword but I like seeing big damage numbers and bleed was fun with glory's melee weapons so open to troll builds and unarmed builds, honestly the more and more variety in build suggestions the better because I'm stumped for what to play and still very new to these games especially when it comes to what's even possible in endgame, just saw I had these on my EGS game list, gave dragonfall a try after reading good things about it and been really enjoying it

which honestly was a blessing in disguise because I wasn't too far (last thing I did was the humanis mission) and I messed up my skill points big time, plus pistols sadly didn't feel that great and having 2 pistol users especially didn't either Old hard drive has been having issues and had to replace it, but since I'm too lazy to transfer over files and most of my games have cloud saves that means games I don't have cloud saves for I'm just going to restart.
